In the southwest of Extremadura, two brothers, Juan and Bruno, sons of cottager, resist the trace of time under the shelter of an atavistic olive grove more than 400 years old. When summer arrives, the sun devastates all life and the landscape remains subdued in the quietness of the hours of sunshine. The life of the country people is relegated to the shade of the trees in a long contemplation of motionless nature. Bruno disappears from the landscape and Juan is left alone after 80 years. In the absence of his brother, Juan begins to perceive something strange about the tops of the olive trees. The silence of the olive trees is interrupted. A being, invisible, that at times dwells in the treetops and sleeps in the roots. An ancestral bird hidden in the landscape of Extremadura. A mystical, invaluable traveler.
The hands, as an element of dialogue between man and earth. This film proposes a journey through the meadow of the southwest of Extremadura, an inner and mystical journey of farm workers with the land. This story seeks to convey the deepest connection that the workers of the Extremadura countryside have with the land, with their roots.
